About this policy
This Privacy Policy applies to Prayvite’s website, applications, invitation links, and related communications. In this policy, “Prayvite,” “we,” and “us” refer to the operator of the Prayvite service.
Information we collect
We collect information in the following ways:
- Account information. Your name, email address, authentication details, and profile information. If you use Google sign-in, we receive basic profile information such as your name and email address through our authentication provider.
- Prayvite content. Prayer subjects, prayer requests, messages, updates, categories, dates, times, and the names or contact information of people you invite.
- Participation information. When someone joins, marks that they prayed, chooses a reminder, or otherwise interacts with a Prayvite.
- Notification information. Email preferences, device push-subscription information, and delivery records needed to send requested reminders and prayer updates.
- Organization information. Information submitted about a church, ministry, or other organization, including its name, contact details, location, and website.
- Technical information. Browser and device information, IP address, request logs, error details, and similar information created when you use the service.
Prayvite drafts and navigation preferences may also be stored in your browser using local storage or session storage.
Sensitive prayer content
Prayer requests may include health, religious, family, or other sensitive information. You choose what to share. Please share only what is necessary and do not submit sensitive information about another person unless you have their permission to do so.
How we use information
We use information to:
- Create accounts and provide, maintain, and secure the Prayvite service.
- Create invitation links and show Prayvite content to the intended participants.
- Send invitations, reminders, prayer milestones, and service messages you request.
- Support users, diagnose errors, prevent abuse, and improve reliability.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
We do not sell personal information or use prayer content for targeted advertising.
How information is shared
Information may be shared in these circumstances:
- Within a Prayvite. Organizers, prayer subjects, participants, and invited organizations may see information appropriate to their role, including names, updates, and participation activity.
- Through invitation links. A person with a valid invitation link may be able to view or join the related Prayvite. Recipients can forward links, so invitation links should be shared carefully.
- With service providers. We use providers such as Supabase for database and authentication services, Vercel for hosting, Resend for email delivery, Google for optional sign-in, and browser push services for device notifications.
- For safety or legal reasons. We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect rights and safety, investigate misuse, or defend legal claims.
- Business changes. Information may transfer as part of a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of all or part of the service, subject to appropriate protections.
Your choices
- You can update your display name from your Prayvite account.
- You can change reminder and prayer-notification choices inside each Prayvite.
- You can block device notifications through your browser or operating system.
- You may request access, correction, or deletion of personal information by contacting us. Some information may be retained where required by law or needed for security, dispute resolution, or the integrity of shared Prayvites.
Data retention and security
We retain information for as long as reasonably needed to provide the service, maintain shared Prayvites, meet legal obligations, and resolve disputes. Backup, delivery, and security records may remain for a limited period after other information is removed.
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, but no online service or invitation link can be guaranteed completely secure. Use care when including personal or sensitive details in a prayer request.
Children’s privacy
Prayvite is not directed to children under 13, and children under 13 may not create an account. If you believe a child has provided personal information to Prayvite, contact us so we can review and address the request.
International processing
Prayvite and its providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Those locations may have data-protection laws different from the laws where you live.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Prayvite changes. We will post the revised policy here and update the effective date. If a change is material, we may also provide notice through the service or by email.
